FAQ

Can I participate in the Championship if I do not have any instructor qualifications?

Yes. The Championship is organised on an open-basis allowing each person who has formally registered their participation and who possesses the appropriate equipment to partake in the Championship. All individuals partake in the Championship as members of teams, composed of 3 or 4 participants and led by a kayak instructor.

How much is the entry fee and what does it entitle me to?

If you register by the official deadline, the cost of the entry fee is PLN 100 per person. This entitles you to the following:

  • partial board,
  • transportation along the Championship route,
  • insurance,
  • accommodation (hotel, or a camp site spot after the hotel is full).

How can I pay my entry fee?

Via bank transfer – you can find the bank account details in the Championship Regulation document.
By cash – during the verification process at the Championship office. To avoid paying a higher rate for the entry fee, make sure you register before the official deadline stating that you will pay the entry fee during the Championship.

What competitions are going to be run during the Championship and do I need to take part in all of them?

The competitions run during the Championship cover kayaking skills required for white water kayaking, sea kayaking, resque, and strainer rivers kayaking. You do not need to start in all of the competitions. Participants decide in which competitions they want to take part.

Can I take part in the Championship if I do not have my own kayak?

The organisers will provide equipment only during selected competitions. In general, we do not provide equipment. We will be able to provide only a limited number of kayaks for participants arriving from outside of Poland. If you are unable to bring your own kayak, please register by the 30th July 2011 and indicate that you will require a kayak.

Can I start in a double kayak or in any other type of boat?

No, only single kayaks will be allowed to start in the competitions.

Do I have to wear a helmet and a buoyancy aid during competitions?

A buoyancy aid and a helmet are obligatory during the slalom competitions. During other sections of the Championship each participant must wear a buoyancy aid. It is recommended that everyone paddles wearing a helmet and with a spraydeck on during all sections of the Championship.
